All motorcycle training sponsors in the State of Nevada use the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s curricula for motorcycle training. We also use the Evergreen Safety Council’s curricula for three wheeled training (sidecar-trike classes).

THE BASIC RIDER COURSE: Are you a new or returning rider? If this is you, this is the course for you. During this course, you’ll learn the basic fundamentals and develop you capabilities to become a safer and responsible motorcyclist. You’ll learn both the physical and mental skills important for operating a motorcycle. You’ll learn how to manage risk, and how to develop a good mental riding strategy. You’ll also learn how to effectively brake, swerve, and corner. The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles waives their testing for successful graduates of this course.

Prerequisites: To be eligible to take this course, you must be at least 15 ½ years old, and already have a driver’s license, or proof of driver’s education.

THE SKILLS PRACTICE COURSE: New to motorcycling? Just got your license? Did you buy a bike that seems a little large? Want to get some controlled practice on your new, larger bike before you hit the streets? Consider taking the Skills Practice Experienced Rider Course. This course involves riding skill-building exercises, under the helpful eye of trained rider coaches, helping you become more comfortable on your new bike.

Prerequisites: Provide your own, fully insured street legal motorcycle. Must already have a valid motorcycle license endorsement. Provide all required personal riding gear.

THE LICENSE WAIVER COURSE: Have you been riding motorcycles for a while, but you have no motorcycle driver’s license.? Do you already have good skills and can ride with good to excellent basic proficiency? Consider enrolling in the new License Waiver Experienced Rider Course. There is a preliminary qualifying skill check at the beginning of the course. This course will put you through skill building exercises, and have discussions about motorcycling, particularly while operating in traffic. It also has end of course written and riding tests. Nevada DMV will accept this course as a license testing waiver, so you can obtain your motorcycle endorsement and ride legally!

Prerequisites: Provide your own, fully insured street legal motorcycle. Provide all required riding gear.

Special Note: This course is not intended to teach you basic riding skills. You must already have good basic proficiency. Students lacking basic skills will be identified early in the course and dismissed, without refund. If you’re not sure, consider registering in the Basic Rider Course.

THE EXPERIENCED RIDER COURSE: If you are an experienced, licensed motorcyclist, this is the course for you. This course will include many skill building exercises and in depth discussions of strategies and issues of riding in traffic. If it’s time for a tune up of skills, take this valuable course.

Prerequisites: Provide your own, fully insured street legal motorcycle. Must already have a valid motorcycle license endorsement. Provide all required personal riding gear.

THE SIDECAR/TRIKE EDUCATION COURSE: Are two wheels not for you? Do you like the look of riding a motorcycle with a sidecar, or do you have a trike? This course is for the experienced sidecarist or trike rider. It will give you a look at both types of vehicles, develop a good mental riding strategy, and also help you prepare for the unexpected on the road.

Prerequisites: Provide your own, fully insured street legal sidecar or trike. Must already have a valid license for your vehicle. This course is not for car-based trikes, or for sidecars that lean.
